We love these rustic Tamegroute  candle holders hand made in Morocco using traditional techniques. Tamegroute pottery is made on the edge of the Sahara, by only seven atelier families. The clay is dug up from under palm trees and fired in brick ovens fuelled by palm wood. These pieces are chunky, very rough and often wonky. The rustic firing technique often leads to streaky carbonised patches. The resulting pieces look ancient and are utterly unique, beautiful and look like they wouldn’t be out of place in a museum – this observation was made by a Christie’s of London ceramic specialist!

As each piece is so unique and the glaze may vary significantly from the photo shown we are happy to send you photos of the stock we have of whichever item you are interested in so you can choose the one you want.
