These unique pieces are made of 70% serpentine rock which is hammered into powder and mixed with 30% clay which allows for the sturdy shaping. Each piece is formed by hand with bamboo tools then smoothed with stone. After firing each it is covered with leaves. The smoke from the leaves against the hot serpentine creates the dark radiant finish and rich lustre.
These platters would make a stunning centre piece on a dining, kitchen or even coffee table.
