corinne de haas
For more than 27 years Corinne de Haas has been producing fabulous handmade ceramics from her studio in Cape Town, South Africa. Her bowls, platters, citrus squeezers and oven-to-tableware, while truly special, are nevertheless specifically designed for everyday use.
The pieces are made in a custom blend, smooth terracotta clay which vitrifies at 1130˚C. A lead and cadmium free, traditional Tin White glaze is applied over the clay, and the way in which the clay interacts with the glaze on edges, or where clay raised decorations are used, results in Corinne’s signature look and feel.

Everything is made on site by Corinne and her small, tight knit team.
The core studio craftspeople are Emily, Elvin and Zane. All from Kleinmond and all trained by Corinne. Together they have a total of nearly 60 years of clay-work time between them.
Each team member has a field of expertise be it throwing, moulding or glazing and on average every piece passes through 4 pairs of hands before being packed and shipped.

As practical as they are beautiful Pascale Smets and her family have been collecting and using de Haas ceramics for decades.
Here at PASCALE Store we are incredibly proud to be the exclusive UK stockist of Corinne de Haas ceramics, in our store at New Street Market, Woodbridge.
